Working Waitangi Day is nothing new for me but having the entire school stay in instead of a few 'country boys' was a new experience.
We woke up as usual and headed off to school in our rec gear. After assembling in the corridor we took a leisurely stroll to the Senior Campus for our Waitangi Service. Blessed with a beautiful cool yet sunny day the service theme of unity and working together was a important message for all three campuses and the families attending.
The rest of the day was spent trialing for different sports teams.
It was great to see those of you who attended.

2013 - A New Start
Hello and welcome back to Cotter House!
The Year 8s have been doing a terrific job as 'buddies' to the new boys. One week almost done and the boys are looking forward to a relaxing weekend with their families.
Tomorrow (Friday) at 2.30pm there is a Powhiri for all new staff, boys and their families.
A big thank you to all the parents who have numbered and named their boy's clothing and equipment. With 48 pairs of togs, shoes etc in the house, you can imagine the importance of this.
Could you also ensure that your boy has a roll on deodorant as the boys are very active and combined with the heat...well lets just say that things can get a bit ripe.
Check-in on Sunday is between 6 to 6.30pm and Chapel is at 6.45pm. Please attend. There is parking on the field if the weather is good.

Winter Routines
Hi there. A big thanks for all those who attended our chapel service. Apart from some issues with sound, it was a lovely night. The food that you all provided was lovely and I think there were a few friends made.
As winter approaches it is good to remember that our routines in the House change. There will naturally be more time spent inside and this means games like cards, knuckle bones etc are a must to have. Busy boys are happy boys.
Winter sport begins as soon as we come back so you need to bring the correct sports gear.
Rugby - mouth guard, boots, training socks, rugby jersey and shorts. First 15 may need more clothes as they train twice a week.
Football (soccer) - shirt, shorts, Football sock (to the knee) and shin guards.
Hockey - mouth guard, shirt, shorts, Football sock (to the knee) and shin guards.
A sports bag is essential to keep all this gear in.
As always, please ensure that the equipment and clothing is named and/or numbered. You are invited to come and support any of your boy's games. Fixture locations are in the House foyer on the wall.

A Fresh Start
Hello and welcome to a new year in Cotter House,
Thank you to all those families who have paid the $20 House fee. If you are yet to pay, please do so next time you check your boy in.
Summer sport is well under way and your boy will need to bring sports shoes and togs. Please ensure that these are numbered.
The boys have been doing a great job in the house and have enjoyed at least one trip tobogganing down the side of Mt Hobson.
If you have any questions. Please don't hesitate to call us.
