Staff Resignation

Hello to the Cotter House Community,

It is with regret that I announce the resignation of both Matron Davies and Blair Walker. Matron started her Dilworth career in MacMurray House and spent the last several years as our Cotter House matron.

Dilys has many talents and her strong organisational skills will be missed. The school is currently receiving applications for two Matrons, one for Cotter and MacMurray House.

Blair was only with us a short time and did a great job. The commitment between his teaching job and Housemaster role meant that he was sometimes stretched as he also lived offsite. Applications will be opening for that position soon.

On other matters, the Cotter House trip is this coming Monday the 7th. We will all be going to Parakai hot pools for the evening and Rachel (my wife) and I will be cooking a BBQ for the boys.

Baking with Mr Knight

Several boys have take Mr Knight up on his baking challenge. A lot of very nice food is being baked, and then promptly eaten.

Last nights group was a chocolate cake. The smell of it baking had the other boys' mouths watering.

A special thanks to thanks to Anna Dunwoodie who donated ice-cream and fruit salad for a surprise supper treat for the boys. They loved it.

Term Two

Hello again and welcome to your second Term for 2016. The winter terms run slightly differently from the summer terms, as you would expect. We spend a great deal more time in the boarding house in the evenings. This means indoor games and activities.

Mr Knight has organised baking for any boys who wish to participate. Ask your boy what he needs to do and bring. Mr Ehinger has organised xbox FIFA and a table tennis competition for the boys to enter. We will also be doing such activities as ninja hide and seek and spotlight. Always a favourite amongst the boys.

The boys are welcome to bring in small board games, playing cards, knuckle bones and the like. Dressing gowns and slippers are likewise welcome. All students are permitted to bring in their own black tracksuit pants to be worn anytime with their rec gear or before and after sport.

Last night we attended the dress rehearsal of the Senior Campus/ Dio Production of 'Guys and Dolls'. A fabulous production that was a hit with the audience. It was great to see many old Cotter House boys amongst the performers and crew. Ask your your boy what part of the performance he enjoyed.
